I've been asked to perform my song Ode to Jack Herer as part of the tribute to Jack at the 10th annual High Times Stony Awards.

I had the opportunity met Jack several times in Amsterdam. I wrote my song Ode to Jack Herer the day after he died and was able to perform it for his family at their home after the funeral ceremony. I'm honored to be asked to perform my song for Jack at the HIgh Times Stony Awards.

This years Stony Awards will recognize the decades highest moments in television and film. Scheduled to appear are Governor Jesse Ventura, Pauly Shore, Doug Benson, Broken Lizard Comedy Troupe, Rob Corddry. It's rumored that Cheech and Chong will be in the house! We'll see what happens. Musical performances by Craig Robinson & The Nasty Delicious, Dan Finnerty of the Dan Band (from the Hangover), Zachariah & The Lobos Riders, Leon (of Leon & The Peoples) and Jet Baker.

The nominees include but are not limited to:

Best TV Show - Nurse Jackie, Treme, Weeds, Breaking Bad, and Entourage.

Best Animated TV Show - South Park, Family Guy, and The Simpsons.

Documentaries - How Weed Won the West, Strainhunters India Expedition, When You're Strange, and Dirty Pictures.

Best Comedy - Hey, Watch This, Get Him to the Greek, It's Complicated, and Hot Tub Time Machine

Best Drama - Leaves of Grass, Holy Rollers, and Happiness Runs.

Stoner of the Year - Jonah Hill (Get Him to the Greek), Russell Brand (Get Him to the Greek), John Cusack (Hot Tub Time Machine), Ed Norton (Leaves of Grass), Matthew Broderick (Wonderful World), Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin (It's Complicated), Steve Zahn (Treme), and Kevin Dillon (Entourage).

Stonette of the Year - Kristen Stewart (The Runaways), Sarah Silverman (Saint John of Las Vegas), Meryl Streep (It's Complicated), Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie), Megan Fox (Jonah Hex), and Drew Barrymore (Going the Distance).

Did you know Henry Ford built of hemp in 1941? It also used hemp oil for fuel. 61 years ago we had the answer to reducing our use of fossil fuels. Here's the video -

Hemp Facts: Hemp is used for a wide variety of purposes, including the manufacture of cordage of varying tensile strength, clothing, and nutritional products. The bast fibres can be used in 100% hemp products, but are commonly blended with other organic fibres such as flax, cotton or silk, for apparel and furnishings, most commonly at a 55%/45% hemp/cotton blend. The inner two fibres of hemp are more woody, and are more often used in non-woven items and other industrial applications, such as mulch, animal bedding and litter. The oil from the fruits ("seeds") oxidizes (commonly, though inaccurately, called "drying") to become solid on exposure to air, similar to linseed oil, and is sometimes used in the manufacture of oil-based paints, in creams as a moisturizing agent, for cooking, and in plastics. Hemp seeds have been used in bird seed mix as well.Hempseed is also widely used as a fishing bait.
